How do I shop for coverage outside of the Blue KC service area?
If you live outside the Blue KC service area, you may be served by another Blue Cross and Blue Shield provider. Visit http://www.bcbs.com/shop-for-health-insurance/ to find plans that serve your area.

What is Dental coverage?
Dental coverage is insurance that deals with services necessary to clean, maintain, and care for your teeth and gums. When reviewing Blue KC’s dental plan options, you’ll be able to review detailed information about what each specific plan covers.

What is Short-Term Security?
Our short-term security insurance plans are a great option for individuals and families who are temporarily without healthcare coverage. You can choose the deductible option that best fits your budget for a maximum of 364 days of coverage each year with the option to cancel at any time without a penalty. These Short-Term products are only applicable to a select group of people, are still subject to underwriting and therefore are not guarantee issued. According to the ACA, individuals who are enrolled in a short-term security product plan effective January 1, 2014 may be subject to a minimum penalty of $95 for 2014.

What is Medicare Supplement?
Medicare plans are designed for individuals age 65 years and older and for disabled Medicare beneficiaries. A Medicare supplement, also known as Medigap insurance, can help pay some of the health care costs that Medicare Part A and B doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. You pay a monthly premium for this coverage in addition to the monthly Part B premium that you pay to Medicare.
